Learning construction came very early in life for me. My dad
and uncles were involved in varies aspects of construction before I was born. I
remember when I was a teenager my dad would take me to his jobsite and teach me
the fundlementals of building and remodling. The great thing about remodling is
you get hands on training of every phase of construction, from laying concrete
block to putting on that last coat of paint on a piece of trim that you
installed.
Framing
was my favorite trade that I learned so I focused on that for many years. I
went to work for The Eddy in the early 1990's as a director for handicap
accessibility construction in the greater capital region. This is were I
learned to build for the physical needs of each individual customer. We would
evaulate each person with care and compassion and decide to build what would
fit their needs best. We would reconstruct complete buildings to make them
handicap accessible to installing a simple grab bar in the bathroom of a rehab
patient. The Eddy gave me a full scholarship in nursing while working there
were I later graduated with a degree in science.
I started working with my partner
Zelindo Viscusi in 1999. I worked as his formen building custom home
developments in the Guilderland area. I enjoy working with him every day
because of his expertise in building and his honest sincerity with our
customers. Signature Custom Homes was formed from our principles of sincerity
and fair methods of practice that we demand from every member of our team so
that we can deliver a consistent, high quality product that our customers
expect and deserve. |
